This is a beautiful painting reflects the tranquillity of Arkarra Lagoons where hundreds of species of birds fly free. Magpie geese, black swans, sulfur-crested cockatoos, kookaburras, sacred kingfishers, butcher birds, magpies, to name a few, make it a wonderful place for me to capture on canvas.
I personally find this painting mesmerising to look at (and I’m my biggest critic).
This is a painting which remained untouched and almost-finished for a few months as I looked at it and contemplated where to go next with it.
Then one day I just added the lilies and kept adding until I was happy with the result.
It has some of the qualities of a realist painting while maintaining the effects of a semi-abstract. A few people have commented on the Monet look of my paintings.
